Body Contouring in Austin, Texas.
What is cellulite and what causes it?
Cellulite is a collection of bumpy deposits of fat that are commonly found on the thighs, hips, buttocks, upper arms and abdomen.
Cellulite is contained in the fibrous connective tissue and appears as topical crinkles. Over 80% of women will normally develop cellulite after puberty and first notice it on the abdomen, limbs and buttocks. It’s often very difficult to eliminate through conventional efforts like diet and exercise.
There are many reasons for cellulite development, but it’s difficult to pinpoint. It depends on the individual and a multitude of factors relating to hormones, genetics, metabolism, physiology, predisposition, lifestyle and stress.
VelaShape is a FDA-cleared device that effectively and safely contours, shapes, and smoothes the body. This procedure reduces cellulite and firms problem areas in as little as four treatments. The typical treatment is once per week for four weeks. Some areas may need six to eight treatments depending on the area and amount of cellulite. After a series is complete, a maintenance treatment will be needed to maintain results.
VelaShape works by deeply heating fat cells and their surrounding connective tissue and the underlying dermal collagen fibers. The combination of the technologies used in the treatment stimulates the growth of new collagen and elastin, resulting in tighter skin, a reduction of body volume and an overall improvement in the skin’s structure and texture.
There’s nothing painful about a VelaShape treatment. Each treatment feels like a warm, deep tissue massage. It’s normal to experience a warm sensation in the treated areas for a few hours after treatment. Treatment areas may even be pink for a few hours after treatment.
A series of VelaShape treatments can noticeably improve the appearance of cellulite and gives the treated areas the look of firmer, tighter skin.
